Splash Pad Fun

Sorry it's been a while, things get a little crazy around here sometimes! I will try to get better!

We spent about 4 hours yesterday at Noah's Ark splashpad and pool. The kids had a blast and boy was everyone tired (including mom). Adam found a slide that he could manage and was nonstop. He was like a machine...just going up and down, up and down. It was cute. He is getting so big so fast! On the bigger pool side, Dylan loved the diving board. He has learned how to dive and was busy impressing all the onlookers with his cute "first time diver" technique. Regan stayed true to form and stuck by mom most of the time. She did run off to play some with her friends from next door, but she wore out quickly and was ready to go home about an hour before everyone else. She is more like me, just likes to chill out by the pool and watch people.

I would have brought my camera to take pics, but I had my hands full bymyself with 3 young kids, a cooler, each of their pool bags (that they were SUPPOSE to carry themselves) including towels, lunchkits, goggles, drink cups, and my bag. We are planning to go again before school starts, so I will bring the camera next time.

In other less exciting news...Mark and I will both be participating in the Houston Marathon this year! Mark will be running the full marathon (26 miles) for the 4th time. I will be running the half marathon (13 miles) for the 1st time. My neighbor and I started training about 3 weeks ago by joining Cypress Fit (USA Fit). It is a marathon training program that has helped a lot. We are up to running 2 miles (I know, laugh) but it is getting a little easier. I figure that even if I can't finish it, at least I will be in really good shape by the time the marathon gets here (January 2009). Mark's goal to is beat his last year race time, mine is to finish in the alloted time :) He runs about a 7 1/2 minute mile, and I run about a 12 minute mile. He is crazy.

Anyway, I guess that is all the latest and greatest. Take care!

Wendy

Wendy, I am running the half also and I'm training with Houston Fit. Maybe we can get together for a run when the weather gets cooler.
