Splash Pad Fun

Sorry it's been a while, things get a little crazy around here sometimes! I will try to get better!

We spent about 4 hours yesterday at Noah's Ark splashpad and pool. The kids had a blast and boy was everyone tired (including mom). Adam found a slide that he could manage and was nonstop. He was like a machine...just going up and down, up and down. It was cute. He is getting so big so fast! On the bigger pool side, Dylan loved the diving board. He has learned how to dive and was busy impressing all the onlookers with his cute "first time diver" technique. Regan stayed true to form and stuck by mom most of the time. She did run off to play some with her friends from next door, but she wore out quickly and was ready to go home about an hour before everyone else. She is more like me, just likes to chill out by the pool and watch people.

I would have brought my camera to take pics, but I had my hands full bymyself with 3 young kids, a cooler, each of their pool bags (that they were SUPPOSE to carry themselves) including towels, lunchkits, goggles, drink cups, and my bag. We are planning to go again before school starts, so I will bring the camera next time.

In other less exciting news...Mark and I will both be participating in the Houston Marathon this year! Mark will be running the full marathon (26 miles) for the 4th time. I will be running the half marathon (13 miles) for the 1st time. My neighbor and I started training about 3 weeks ago by joining Cypress Fit (USA Fit). It is a marathon training program that has helped a lot. We are up to running 2 miles (I know, laugh) but it is getting a little easier. I figure that even if I can't finish it, at least I will be in really good shape by the time the marathon gets here (January 2009). Mark's goal to is beat his last year race time, mine is to finish in the alloted time :) He runs about a 7 1/2 minute mile, and I run about a 12 minute mile. He is crazy.

Anyway, I guess that is all the latest and greatest. Take care!

Pirates

Regan and Dylan are really into Pirates right now. I think Regan is into it only because Dylan is. Sometimes they take turns following each others interests. For a while, Dylan loved Dora (only because Regan did). Anyway...my mom found these cute costumes so I thought I would post a picture! They have worn them for the past 4 days!
Also, Regan got her hair cut today! She is sleeping right now, so I will post pictures of her later tonight!!

Fourth of July Fun

WE WON THE COLES CROSSING PARADE!!!! Or at least we won a great prize for our "triple wagon float" The kids were so excited, especially about getting to go shopping at Toys R Us!! They threw candy to all the spectators, and ate all the leftovers. I think they are still on a sugar high.

Great MeMaw and Great PaPaw are visiting from Alabama and helped with the float decorations. Regan and Dylan helped blow up the balloons, and Adam gave lots of moral support. Daddy pulled the wagon through most of the parade. It was HOT HOT HOT outside, and luckily, the parade went right past our house. It was a perfect stopping point for us!!

I promise to post more frequently! I am even late posting 4th of July stuff. I am still learning how to do this and trying to get faster at it. Take care!!!

Welcome!!!

Well, I finally got around to starting a family blog to keep family and friends updated on the kids. I started slacking on the monthly Kodak Gallery photo albums, so I thought this would change things up a little bit. Feel free to save the link to your favorites, send it to friends, and check us out every now and then. I hope to update the blog at least a couple of times a week.

My plan is to start posting about everyday happenings that I want to remember about the kids, and occassionally go back in time to post about big events such as births, past holidays, etc. Eventually, I want to have a "scrapbook" of the past 4 years and the future. We will see how this all works.

Thanks for checking in!!!!

Love, Wendy
